Marriage Ministry at TCC
We believe that God designed and instituted marriage (Genesis 2:20-24) to reflect His love and grace, give a picture of our relationship with Him, and serve the health and growth of society. Marriage also provides men and women with an opportunity to honour and serve God through faithful intimacy and fulfillment of His call to adventure (leaving one's security and family to embark on a journey with another) and procreation.
Our marriage ministry exists to strengthen and support couples as they walk through life together and seek to honour their marriage vows. This ministry seeks to encourage couples to build Christ-centered relationships that flourish in every season of life. Through practical workshops, small group discussions, and mentorship opportunities, we provide tools and resources to help couples grow in relationship to one another and God, fostering strong communication, intimacy, and spiritual connection. Whether you are newly married or have experienced decades together, are in a place filled with celebration or are facing challenges and strife, our community is here to walk alongside you through the highs and lows of life, relationships, and commitment.
Marriage ministry at TCC also emphasizes the importance of fellowship and community (beyond the couple) as vital aspects of a thriving relationship. We host regular events like date nights, retreats, and group gatherings, offering couples a chance to connect with others who share similar values and experiences. These moments of connection remind us that no marriage thrives in isolation and we learn, grow, and find support best in community. We are committed to seeing every marriage strengthened through the transformative power of the gospel and love of Jesus Christ.
Why we believe having a Marriage Ministry is Important
We believe that marriage is a God-ordained union designed to reflect His love, faithfulness, grace, and relationship to us as our Creator. Our marriage ministry exists because we recognize that thriving marriages do not occur by chance—they require hard work, intentionality, encouragement, and the support of a Christ-centered community. By providing couples with opportunities to find mentors and friends, deepen their communication, nurture intimacy, and grow spiritually, we aim to equip marriages with the tools to withstand challenges and experience the joy and fulfillment God intends as they live out the commitments they have made to one another.
Strong marriages build strong families and, in turn, strong churches and communities. Our marriage mentors and groups hope to come alongside couples at every stage of their journey, fostering relationships that point to Christ and His redemptive power. Through discipleship to Jesus, fellowship with others, and practical teaching, we strive to create a space where couples are supported, encouraged, and equipped to live out God’s design for their marriage. Ultimately, our marriage ministry exists to see couples honour God and have their families and those around them experiencing and witnessing the transformational work of Jesus Christ.
